He is the father of the modern Paso Fino, we know today. His influence has trickled down through out the show divisions of the Paso Fino breed in the United States. Capuchino was the Grand National Fino Champion for four years in a row from 1984 to 1987. The horses today try to emulate Capuchino’s lightening quick feet, snappy hock action and extreme collection. Capuchino has been listed on the PFHA Top Ten Sires list many times. Capuchino was found to pass his unique individual gait, conformation and gentle, intelligent character to his offspring. In the early 90’s when his offspring began to hit the show ring, his reproductive potential became a reality. In the Fino Division, top placements went to many of his offspring. With more time, it was found that this pre potency was extremely strong in his genes because it seemed to travel through his offspring into the next generation. Aside from the numerous Capuchino children that carry national and international titles, there are now many Capuchino grandchildren bearing these honors, most notably the reigning World and Grand National Champion, Simbolo de Besilu, a Capuchino grandson.About Her: La Chablis (Capuchino x Pistolera de Universo) is an exquisite, solid black Paso Fino broodmare who has produced National and World Champions. She has exceptional bloodlines and is a direct daughter of Capuchino. She has proved her own worth in the breeding shed as she is the dam of Comentario de Selecta, one of the best fino stallions around. La Chablis is currently bred back to Petrolero del Juncal who is the sire of Comentario. With the foal due in January 2008, this will make the only full brother or full sister to Comentario de Selecta in the United States.
